Hi John,
We are excited to let you know that today, the Democratic Party of Oregon released a draft of our 2024 Delegate Selection Plan, outlining steps for Oregonians who want to take part in the election of Oregon’s delegates to the Democratic National Convention in Summer 2024.
As we gear up for this important election year, this proposal outlines the process we will use to make sure that all Oregon Democrats are able to participate in the presidential nominating process. We are committed to running a transparent and equitable process that allows all voices to be heard.
This plan details how Oregon will apportion National Convention Delegates to Presidential Primary candidates, and how those Delegates will be elected at both the Congressional District Level and the Statewide Level. The plan was written in compliance with DNC Rules, and incorporates Oregon’s first-in-the-nation automatic voter registration and vote-by-mail process. This plan also outlines goals for inclusion and outreach to communities that have historically been under-represented within the Democratic Party of Oregon and the national Democratic Party.
The plan released today will be open to public feedback until April 15th. Once feedback is reviewed and integrated into the final plan, it will be approved by the Democratic Party of Oregon State Central Committee and submitted to the Democratic National Committee for their review and approval.
All feedback on the draft plan released today should be submitted through the feedback form on the Democratic Party of Oregon National Convention website: oregon2024.com. This feedback form will close on April 15th at 5 p.m.
