Dear John, The Cuban people are experiencing one of the worst economic and humanitarian crises in history due to President Biden’s unwillingness to remove it from the State Sponsor of Terrorism list (SSOT).The SSOT places restrictions on purchase, import and export of technology, software, and basic goods, such as medicines and sanitation supplies, and makes banks afraid to process transactions with the island. Since the Biden administration insists on clinging to Trump’s failed hardline policies on Cuba, we must be louder in our demand that Cuba be removed from the State Sponsor of Terrorism list. This is why we are joining dozens of organizations and hundreds of individuals today, March 15 and tomorrow, March 16, for the National Call-in Days to tell the White House that Cuba is not a State Sponsor of Terrorism. Help us make our demands heard by calling the White House on Wednesday and Thursday 11am to 3pm EST. This call to action is also supported by the vast majority of the world's countries, who voted in November 2022 at the UN to condemn the embargo and the growing chorus of North Americans demanding the normalization of relations between the two countries. The main U.S. excuse for putting Cuba on the list is that it “harbors“ Colombian rebels. But at the request of the Colombian government, Cuba is actually hosting the third round of peace talks between the Colombian government and the ELN guerrilla group to help bring an end to the longest armed conflict in the Western Hemisphere. Tell Biden that Cuba is an agent of peace not a sponsor of terror. President Biden, Secretary Blinken, and the U.S. State Department must immediately revoke Cuba's SSOT designation to begin normalizing relations between our two countries. President Biden must reverse the damage done by the Trump Administration and lift the restriction that was unjustly placed on Cuba. Reach out to the White House today and demand that President Biden take Cuba off the Terrorist List!
