John,

Would you like to see your members of Congress do more to:

Prevent human trafficking?
Support victims and survivors as they rebuild their lives?
Ensure enforcement and accountability?

So do we, and I want you to know…

Polaris is strongly advocating for exactly this leadership.

We welcomed the 118th Congress with a powerful call to action, guided by our 2023 Federal Legislative Priorities.

We’re urging lawmakers to:

Help trafficking survivors clear their criminal records.

Provide stronger protections for migrant workers and robust enforcement for labor trafficking.

Equip the global financial sector to disrupt trafficking — and improve financial inclusion for survivors.

Prioritize survivor leadership, and provide full services to victims.

Here are just a few of the tangible recommendations we’ve made to Congress to meet these priorities head on:

► Pass the Trafficking Survivors Relief Act, providing federal criminal record relief to survivors who committed a crime as a result of being trafficked.

► Increase funding to enforce existing labor laws and hold traffickers accountable for violations.

► Sufficiently fund the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) at the U.S. Department of the Treasury to develop a beneficial database mandated by the Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2020.

► Fund more services that help survivors thrive — including legal services, housing, health care and mental health care, child care, and employment training and support.

On all of these issues, your legislators answer to you. They need to hear your voice!

I hope you’ll visit the advocacy hub on our website for more details.

There, you’ll also find actions YOU can take right now… with just a few clicks.

Thank you for your steadfast commitment to a future where everyone is free.

With appreciation,
Caren Benjamin, Polaris
