My name is Hombeline and I’m CAFOD’s Programme Manager for the Syria Crisis Response. On the 12th anniversary of the war in Syria, I want to share my deepest thanks for your support and give you an update on our work.
The conflict has greatly affected the people of Syria, with 70% of the population in urgent humanitarian need. The recent earthquake has further deteriorated this situation.
Thanks to your support, we have been working with local experts since the start of the war to provide emergency and long-term support, both in Syria, and neighbouring countries. Recently we have been helping to rebuild and repair damaged houses and supporting people to find new ways of making a living.
