Today is Equal Pay Day, when we recognize the number of days women must work to earn the same as their White male counterparts.
March 14th is the 73rd day of the year – which means it takes women 73 days longer to make equal pay for equal work. For women of color, this disparity is significantly greater.
Asian women don’t reach their Equal Pay Day until May 3rd.
For Black women, it’s July 27th.
For Latina women, it’s October 8th.
And for Native women, it’s not until November 30th.

We talk about building an economy that works for all of us. That starts by compensating women fairly for the work we do – but it doesn’t stop there.
We must address the issues that fuel this problem: pay discrimination, wage theft, healthcare, caregiving and higher education costs, and a staggeringly low federal minimum wage that has not been raised since 2009.
Congress has the power to start leveling the playing field. With your support, we can urge immediate action on equitable pay for all Americans.
