Today, the North Carolina Supreme Court — with a newly-elected Republican majority — is considering a case to reverse last year’s decision to outlaw partisan redistricting.

It’s no secret why the GOP legislature wants the power to gerrymander maps in their own political favor.

Our state is a true swing state — with statewide elections coming down to the smallest margin of votes.

The court imposed constitutional maps resulted in 7 Republicans and 7 Democrats elected to Congress. Fair, right? Not to the Republicans who are in charge of the state legislature. They want it at 10-4 or even 11-3 in their favor, and they’ll do it if this new court overturns the case and lets them.

They want to choose their voters instead of voters choosing who they want.
