Friend,
My decision to run for President of the United States was not made lightly. Securing a better future for my children is what fuels my fight each and every day.
But there is something else that has guided me through life's biggest questions and challenges: My faith.
I am a proud Christian but growing up my parents taught me to respect everyone's path to God.
I'm the daughter of Indian immigrants who came to the United States legally. I was born into a Sikh family. My parents were and are very serious about their Sikh faith. We were exposed early to lots of different faiths. I converted to Christianity because the teachings of Christ spoke to me in a way that I could understand and that would help me live my life.
Having the choice to define what my faith looks like is the very essence of the American Dream. Will YOU help me restore our country's faith in the American Dream?
Whatever your faith looks like to you, Friend, know that we are blessed to live in a country where we have the freedom to choose. I was reminded of that every day growing up and made it a point to remind my children that freedom isn't free.
Let's get one thing straight – my personal relationship with God has nothing to do with earning your vote. I fiercely believe it's not what you say, it's what you do. What I plan to do is fight.
I pledge to stand for and protect your freedoms everyday as your next President of the United States. Can I count on you to join me in this fight today?
