Russian Warplane Hits U.S. Drone Over Black Sea
A Russian warplane on Tuesday struck a U.S. surveillance drone over the Black Sea, hitting the drone’s propeller and forcing it down in international waters, according to U.S. European Command, which called the Russian forces’ conduct “unsafe and unprofessional,” as the NYT reports. |

The Justice Department and the Securities and Exchange Commission are investigating the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank, according to people familiar with the matter, after the California lender was taken over by regulators last week amid a historic run on its deposits, as the WSJ reports. |
Poland May Hand MiG-29 Jet Fighters to Ukraine Within Weeks
Poland’s prime minister said Tuesday that his government may hand its Soviet-made MiG-29 fighters jets over to Ukraine “within the next four to six weeks,” as the AP reports. |

Smiles
I saw two more episodes of Amazon’s “Daisy Jones and the Six.” The show band is starting to sound like Fleetwood Mac as they work through new material, including Lindsey Buckingham’s signature guitar clanging along (Double D Drop tuning with a capo on the second fret), the penetrating bass lines of John McVie and blistering, hypnotic drumming of Mick Fleetwood. Of course, it’s the three-part harmonies of Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, and Christine McVie that shine through all the noise as portrayed by Jones and the Six, not to mention the romantic tensions between members of the group. I don’t need much to inspire me to listen to the Big Mac, but this show is sending my consumption into overdrive.
