We have officially opened the application process to be a delegate to the
YDA 2023 in Las Vegas, NV from June 18 - June 21. 

First off, it is our expectation that delegates will arrive on or before
the night of June 17 and will leave on or after the night of June 21. We
will only be supplying housing to everyone from June 17 through the morning
of June 22. If you wish to come earlier or stay longer, you must find your
own accommodations.

Secondly, as it currently stands, we will have 19 total delegates. 15
delegates will be in person and a maximum of 4 will be virtual. In
addition, we will also accept up to 5 alternates for a total of 24 people.

THAT'S 15 IN PERSON DELEGATES, 5 IN PERSON ALTERNATES, AND 4 VIRTUAL
DELEGATES.

We are aiming to have diversity within our delegation on multiple levels
between gender, race, region, and constituency caucuses. You can view our

IF MEMBERS WISH TO ATTEND AS AN OFFICIAL PART OF OUR DELEGATION, THEY MUST
FILL OUT THIS APPLICATION. ANYONE WHO DOES NOT FILL OUT THIS APPLICATION
WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR FINAL DELEGATE SELECTION, EVEN IF THEY ARE
REGISTERING ON THEIR OWN AND PAYING FOR THEIR OWN HOUSING.

All information included in this application is confidential and will only
be used in the selection process and to verify eligibility. Reminder:
delegates will be anyone who is a member of the Virginia Young Democrats,
resides in Virginia, is at least 13 years old, and no older than 35 years
old. If under the age of 18, members must have a parent or legal guardian
sign a waiver or they can only be considered for virtual attendance to the
nature of the location.

THIS APPLICATION WILL OFFICIALLY CLOSE ON APRIL 17TH (THE DAY AFTER THE END
OF THE VAYD CONVENTION). VAYD has the authority to reopen the application
at a later date if spots are not filled or if spots reopen. Only those who
have completed the application in full by April 17th at 11:59 PM will be
considered in the delegate selection process.

Note: If members indicate that they will not be willing to be there for the
full time of the convention (June 18 starting at 11AM PDT through June 21
at 6PM PDT), they will be out of contention to be a delegate. YDA is
enforcing strict attendance policies for all delegates and therefore we
cannot afford to lose any delegates due to poor attendance, otherwise we
will lose votes. We request that members take this into consideration
before they apply.
