BREAKING NEWS: PRESIDENT BIDEN TAKING EXECUTIVE ACTION TO EXPAND BRADY BACKGROUND CHECKS AND ADDRESS GUN VIOLENCE [[link removed]]
John,
Today, President Biden will announce lifesaving executive actions that are proven to address gun violence – including expanding Brady Background Checks. This is the kind of progress that Brady has been championing for decades and exactly why we fought to elect Biden to office. Ahead of this historic announcement, we’re calling on 500 grassroots activists to respond to our urgent petition right now:
DO YOU SUPPORT PRESIDENT BIDEN TAKING EXECUTIVE ACTION TO PREVENT GUN VIOLENCE??

11:59 P.M. DEADLINE | LATE RESPONSES WILL NOT BE RECORDED.
Brady is joining President Biden in Monterey Park, CA, as he makes this consequential announcement. Earlier this year, this community was changed forever when a gunman killed 11 people and injured 9 more in a horrific mass shooting. This tragedy is unfortunately one of over 100 mass shootings that have happened this year alone – a deadly milestone that our nation reached in record time in 2023. It’s clear that our nation needs action more urgently than ever.
Consequential progress like this is a direct result of Brady’s tireless effort to enact change that is proven to be effective and our dedicated partnership with the Biden Administration. These actions will make the Brady Background Check system closer to universal than ever before, increase awareness about Extreme Risk laws, address dangerous gun industry marketing tactics, and increase federal support for gun violence victims and survivors and their families – and they will save lives.
Already, President Biden has taken more executive action to reduce gun violence than any other president in two years of their tenure. And last year, he signed into law the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the most significant gun violence prevention legislation in nearly 30 years. But the administration also knows that this is only the beginning of the change that needs to be made in our country.
While Biden has continuously called on Congress to follow his lead and take action, like banning assault weapons and large-capacity magazines, they’ve failed to do so even after record gun deaths, thanks to deadly gun lobby influence. So he is doing all that he can with his executive power until our lawmakers can prioritize American lives over gun industry profit.
The majority of Americans support actions like expanding background checks and we want to make it clear to our lawmakers that we stand behind President Biden in his mission to do so and his call for further action. That’s why we are calling on 500 dedicated gun violence prevention advocates to respond to our urgent poll right now – and we’re still missing your name, John. Can you add your response right now?
