Dear Friend of MCV,
On this stormy March day, I’m watching the snow fall outside my window and dreaming of warmer days on the beach.
Despite today’s weather, spring is on its way! And with spring, comes Earth Day. I hope you will plan to join us [[link removed]] for our Earth Day Beach Cleanup on Saturday, April 22 from 10 AM-12 PM at Old Orchard Beach.

We have FREE “Earth Day” t-shirts to give to the first 50 volunteers who sign-up, so save your spot today!
We’re delighted to be partnering with Blue Ocean Society for Marine Conservation [[link removed]] on this event and excited to feature a short presentation on endangered Piping Plovers from the Maine Audubon Coastal Birds Project [[link removed]].
Special thanks to our Beach Cleanup sponsors: Lee Auto and Bristol Seafood! And to Cafe 64 in Old Orchard Beach for providing snacks for volunteers. There will even be a raffle with fun prizes – lots of great gear from Patagonia and Holy Donut!
Together, we’ll learn more about the science behind the trash that undoubtedly makes its way to Maine’s beaches, discuss the importance of healthy marine ecosystems, and take action to help cleanup one of our state’s most popular beaches.
See you on the beach,
