The Pursuit of Happiness

In this month's Wesley in the World, Dr. Hal Knight discusses the cultural pursuit of happiness. "Much of [cultural] advice is insightful and helpful: get enough sleep and exercise, spend time with friends, have a hobby, enjoy nature, prayer and meditation, breathing exercises, and more. What is not clear is what happiness is. For some, it is a feeling of joy, others pleasure, yet others well-being. Perhaps it is ideally a condition more than a feeling, for feelings come and go. “Implicit Bias: What We Don't Think We Think” is a resource for leaders, preachers and congregations who want to learn and teach about implicit bias, the unconscious bias we all experience. The learning engagements included in each section allow for individual work, group work and sermon preparation. In Awe of Grace Worship Series
A free Worship series download from Discipleship Ministries: Every day is a holy day if you live into the truth of the ever-present God.  Yet there are times and seasons that seem even more holy. There are moments that reverberate with the living presence of the living God, and our only proper response is to fall to our knees in awe of grace. From Palm Sunday through Easter, the world is remade, a new creation, and we are blessed to be a part of it, blessed to receive a gift beyond words, which is nothing less than eternity itself.
