John,
Since we began holding Lauren Boebert accountable in May 2022, we’ve uncovered a lot of muck and facts on her.
Take for instance, the story we investigated and uncovered in June 2022. Boebert allegedly was drinking alcohol and crashed an ATV in Moab, Utah, with her son, dog, and sister-in-law on board. Her injured sister-in-law suffered serious injury to her face and teeth when she slammed into a rock face. Boebert failed to file an accident report as required by Utah DNR, and at first, denied our story. She later confirmed the story with the Denver Post but never filed that accident report.
Or the story we were tipped off about two husky puppies that wandered onto Boebert's property and were murdered with a gun. We dug up these details from the local sheriff's office after being misled by a Deputy Sheriff that the tip was false.
As the saying goes "You know you’re over the target when you start catching flak." Based upon Boebert’s and her cronies' responses to these stories we are clearly on to something and she's trying to shut us down.
In response to uncovering the truth, Boebert actually filed a fake temporary restraining order against me claiming I was stalking her. Her evidence was posts I made with pictures of Silt, Colorado. She then called the Rifle, Colorado, police on me for giving away free "Fire Boebert" t-shirts in front of her now closed cafe. The cops laughed and took free shirts. In the TRO matter, she never went to the trouble of serving me the papers, even though she clearly had my address. The Judge dismissed the TRO and I later sent him a "Fire Boebert" t-shirt that someone claimed they saw him wearing while working in his yard.
Then, Boebert threatened our donors and me on Fox News stating, "David Wheeler has legal liability in his personal capacity and so does each donor… for defamation against me”. She then made the same statements on Sean Hannity’s radio show, Mike Huckabee’s TV show, and Tomi Lahren’s fake news show. Every time defaming our donors, our organization, and me with this lie and a lot more.
Can you believe the chutzpah it takes to make a defamation claim against our 5,000 small dollar donors claiming they knew what I know about her? It would be the first time in defamation legal history that 5,000 defendants were named in a lawsuit for donating to a legal cause; chutzpah, or stupidity, indeed.
Well, it’s been 10 months since she made these threats against our donors and me and not one defamation legal filing. Heck, her lawyer even stopped sending nasty letters.
