Fiscal Year 2024 Community Project Funding RequestsLast week, I announced that my office is accepting Community Project Funding Requests for Fiscal Year 2024. Over the coming weeks, my staff and I will work around the clock to review eligible projects and advance the proposals that best match the criteria and—most importantly—that will deliver the most significant benefit to our region. I’m excited to learn more about the innovative projects in our district, and I encourage all those interested to apply as soon as possible!The deadline for submitting project requests is 6:00PM on Friday, March 17, 2023. Featured Funding OpportunitiesCharging and Fueling Infrastructure Discretionary Grant ProgramThis is a new competitive grant program created by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to strategically deploy publicly accessible electric vehicle charging and alternative fueling infrastructure in the places people live and work, including downtown areas and local neighborhoods, particularly in underserved and disadvantaged communities.Eligible Applicants include cities, counties, local governments, and Tribes.The Application Window opened TODAY, March 14th and closes May 30th. Apply Here!Webinars to share information about the NOFO for the CFI Program will be held on the following dates:Webinar #1: March 21st at 1PMWebinar #2: March 22nd at 2PMIndustrial Demonstrations ProgramIndustrial emissions account for roughly one third of the nation’s carbon footprint, and the industrial sector is considered one of the most difficult to decarbonize due to the diversity of energy inputs, processes, and operations.The Industrial Demonstrations Program will fund projects that focus on the highest emitting and hardest to abate industries where decarbonization technologies can have the greatest impact: iron and steel, cement and concrete, chemicals and refining, food and beverage, paper and forest products, aluminum, other energy-intensive manufacturing industries and cross-cutting technologies. Concept papers are due by April 21, 2023, and full applications are due by August 4, 2023.COPS Hiring Program (CHP)This Program is designed to provide funding directly to law enforcement agencies to hire and/or rehire additional career law enforcement officers to increase their community policing capacity and crime prevention efforts.Anticipated outcomes of the CHP program awards include engagement in planned community partnerships, implementation of projects to analyze and assess problems, implementation of changes to personnel and agency management in support of community policing, and increased capacity of agency to engage in community policing activities.The FY 23 COPS Hiring Program (CHP) will close on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at 4:59 PM ET. * Apply Here!*IMPORTANT: Applications will be submitted in a two-step process, each with its own deadline.
