Here’s a piece of good news to start your week off right! This morning, President Biden announced a robust set of actions to curb gun violence and make this country safer! The latest executive order from POTUS includes:

Ensuring as close to a universal system as possible on background checks for all gun sales.
Directing the Federal Trade Commission to issue a report on how gun manufacturers target civilians, especially minors.
Supporting the US Attorney General in clarifying and releasing the inspections placed on firearm dealers and their licenses.
A proposal on how the federal government can meet the needs of communities grappling with mass shootings.

This incredible progress is one worth celebrating! Advocates like YOU made this victory happen. But without a Congress that is willing to act to prevent gun violence, it’s clear that states will have to continue leading the way. We’ve been doing that work for years.
