This week sees the Security and Policing exhibition return to Farnborough:
14th-16th March 2023

Dear friends,

This morning delegates from arms companies and countries all around the
world will be visiting Farnborough for Security and Policing 2023, which is
taking place on 14th, 15th and 16th March.

CAAT activists, as part of Greater Rushmoor Action for Peace, are taking
action outside the exhibition centre to demand that delegates find peaceful
alternatives to security and the real causes of conflict, and to make sure
that the delegates know they are not welcome in Farnborough, or anywhere
else!

I'm new to CAAT and, until very recently, had no idea of the size of this
huge event - there are hundreds of exhibitors AND the whole event is
sponsored by the Home Office on behalf of the UK government.

The highlighted areas of interest on the exhibition's 'Who Should Exhibit'
page include: Policing and Counter Terrorism, Border Security, Offender
Management, Cyber Security, Major Event Security, and Crowded Places.

With the Illegal Immigration and Public Order Bills making their way
through Parliament, it all makes me wonder what is behind these headings.

Here is a link to CAAT's details of the exhibition, where you can read all
about it and the exhibitors; it's interesting to see how many household
names are involved in this creeping area of control.

If you are able to, please donate today so that we can carry out research
and keep up our pressure on the government, the manufacturers and suppliers
in this growing area of our work. If you are not able to help at the
moment, you can read about other ways to get involved in this work in the
new CAAT News magazine, due out shortly.

Thank you so much for your support in so many ways, I'm looking forward to
getting to know you!

P.S. Thank you to all of you who were able to give to our last appeal,
helping us to keep challenging the UK government - especially in the High
Court!
