Dear Friend,
I hope you’ll join me at my office’s Veterans Resource Fair this Saturday at 12:00 p.m. MT! My District Office is convening a Resource Fair to connect veterans in our community with important health care information from the VA Medical Center, the VA Regional Office, and the incredible community organizations that serve our veterans across New Mexico’s First Congressional District at Smith Brasher Hall at CNM’s Main Campus.
The VA Regional Office, VA Medical Center, Veterans Integration Center, New Mexico Department of Veterans Services, CNM Veterans Resource Center, and Bewellnm will all be in attendance to offer resources to veterans, spouses, and their families.
Last year, I was proud to have helped pass the Honoring Our PACT Act, which has extended health care benefits to more than 3.5 million veterans exposed to toxic substances in the line of duty. In addition, I worked hard in Congress to secure $300,000 for New Mexico’s first all-veteran transitional housing campus, and I am looking forward to hearing updates about this important project from the New Mexico Veterans Integration Center, which will also be discussed at the resource fair.
If you are a veteran, a spouse of a veteran, or know any veterans who want to learn more about their benefits, feel free to attend the resource fair on the PACT Act to meet me and speak with our casework team!
Lastly, if you are unable to attend the resource fair and would like support with a federal agency, be it the VA or any other agency, feel free to contact my team here.
Talk soon!
Melanie
