Team,
I’m working tirelessly in Washington, D.C. to build a brighter future for the Commonwealth, but I wanted to take a moment to tell you about a battle that’s coming up right here at home in Virginia.
The truth is, the General Assembly election this November matters more than it ever has before. All 40 seats in the State Senate and 100 seats in the House of Delegates are up for grabs – and there’s a lot on the line.
Republicans in the House of Delegates refused to remove language from the state constitution that prohibits gay marriage. The VA GOP made it perfectly clear that they’ll ban abortion after just 15 weeks of pregnancy if they take control of both chambers. We’ve witnessed Republicans in Richmond attempt to roll back environmental protections. And the only reason voting rights haven’t been ripped away from Virginians is because Senate Democrats blocked a handful of GOP proposals aimed at weakening voting rights.
Folks, we have to win these seats. Can you chip in to my campaign right now to help me elect strong Democrats to the Virginia General Assembly?

We have to do everything we can to elect the next generation of Democratic leaders to the Virginia General Assembly.
We’re facing long odds and a tough battle, but I know this grassroots movement has what it takes to stay in the fight.
