Hello,

In just a minute, we’re going to ask you to make a contribution to Alex Padilla’s campaign ahead of the FEC deadline at the end of this month. But first, we wanted to take this chance to explain exactly why this deadline is so important to our effort to hold the Senate for Democrats in 2024.

Each quarter, the Federal Election Commission requires every candidate for federal office — from the House of Representatives all the way to President Biden — to file detailed reports laying out how much money they’ve raised and from which sources.

The first quarterly deadline is at the end of this month, and Alex will be required to file a report.

This is also the first time we’ll file with the FEC since Alex was named Vice-Chair of the DSCC, so there are going to be lots of people looking.

With so many eyes on us, we can’t afford to come up short. Not with control of the Senate at stake. So please:
