As I wrote in my last memo, I will be updating you on our continuing WhARF (who are we really fighting) storyline. I haven’t settled on a title but I am using this for now.
Next up is another villain – Kimberly Yee – the Treasurer for the state of Arizona. The only AZ statewide office held by a Republican. A Trump Republican no less. You might think, what can a Treasurer do? It is the most boring job in government and is just a paper pusher. Here is what she has to say about her job:
“As Arizona’s Chief Banking and Investment Officer, my primary responsibility is to protect and safeguard more than $53 billion of taxpayer dollars moving through our office each year,” said [State Treasurer Kimberly] Yee . “Since I took office in January of 2019, I have fought back against ESG policies imposed across the country.” (Source: Arizona Daily Independent New Network [[link removed]] )
Her anti-ESG (environment, social, governance) position is to push pension and investment funds that invest her $53 billion dollar treasury away from renewable energy and towards increased investment into fossil fuels. This is a very alarming trend. Reuters [[link removed]] identifies at least 16 states participating in this anti-ESG Right Wing movement.
So yes, "Paper Pusher" treasurers can be dangerous. And this false push towards what I call elite capitalism will hurt hundreds to millions of pensioners and average everyday citizen’s investment funds. Smart investments include renewable energy as a growing industry and one sure to take over the market. Yee’s misleading legislation and executive decisions are only going to hurt more people for the benefit of a few fossil fuel companies and their elite investors. This Right Wing tactic only seeks to divide us along fake lines of cultural and ideological marketing ploys.
These down ballot seats are important to us all and we need to oust “snake oil sales” people like Yee from important and impactful offices. As we continue to promote “Down is What’s Up!”, we will keep you posted as new Villains get added to the gallery and as we zero in on the cabal that actually runs the Right.
