I am about to ask you to make a contribution to my Senate campaign in North Carolina. Our first monthly fundraising deadline of the year is fast approaching, and I want to explain why I’m making this important request.

The people of North Carolina deserve a leader who understands the issues hardworking families are facing and who's ready to get to work for real solutions. But that’s not what we’ve seen from Senator Thom Tillis.

Since the day he stepped into office, Tillis has done the bidding of shadowy players who fill his campaign coffers. He has supported the Trump-McConnell agenda even when it’s wrong for North Carolina. And he has been weak on the issues that matter most to our communities.

For too long, elected leaders like Tillis and the corrupt special interests trying to buy our elections have worked to stifle progress instead of moving us forward into a better future.

I have had enough of it, John — and so have the people of North Carolina. That’s why our campaign is leading in the polls (the most recent one has us up by two points!) and why Tillis has one of the lowest approval ratings of any U.S. Senator.

So today, while we have the momentum, we cannot afford to take our foot off the gas. It’s critical we have the resources to match Tillis’ war chest and the army of McConnell-backed groups and super PACs that are going to attack me in the coming months.

Now, here comes the part where I ask for your help:

Can I rely on you to make a contribution of any amount to our campaign as a way of showing Thom Tillis and his special-interest allies that we’re ready to win this election? Anything you can give before our first monthly deadline of 2020 will go a long way.
