Julie emailed you. Tristan emailed you.

Taxpayer, now I'm BEGGING you. Here's why:

HEADLINE: "Lawmakers Push ‘Violet’s Law’ For Research Animals to Be Adopted, Not Killed” – The Free Press

PROBLEM: There’s been a very poor show of grassroots support for Violet’s Law.
[[link removed]] Our bipartisan bill helps put retired government animal testing survivors into
forever homes or animal rescues.

BIGGER PROBLEM: If we don’t show an initial surge of support, the pro-animal testing lobby will
gauge it as a sign of weakness. Even worse, Congress will assume the issue is not a priority.

SOLUTION: Violet’s Law
[[link removed]] will help force government white coats to retire lab animal survivors into
loving homes instead of garbage bags.

DEADLINE: We're coming up short.
[[link removed]] We still need 1,000 more taxpayers to email Congress before 11:59 PM, or else
they may drop the issue.

Will you sign?

Taxpayer, we’re shutting down government labs in record
time. In theory, it’s a great thing.

But what happens to the survivors on day 2? Taxpayer-funded white coats either:

* Kill the animals and throw them out like trash, or

* Ship them off to a new lab for more torture.

Government white coats are just too lazy and too cheap to find survivors new
homes. Violet's Law would make them!

[[link removed]]

Thanks to your persistent advocacy
[[link removed]] , we won policies to help retire and release survivors at the National
Institutes of Health, the Dept. of Veterans Affairs, the Pentagon, and the FDA.

However, at least 10 other federal agencies refuse to make adoption an option.
That’s unacceptable.

Violet’s Law is the most important public policy of its kind. Let’s pass it to
ensure ALL GOVERNMENT LABS let taxpayers adopt survivors, instead of just slaughtering them.

Taxpayer, meet Violet. You need to hear her story.

I adopted Violet from a taxpayer-funded dog lab.
[[link removed]] She was known as dog #CEGMBN, her government ID that's tattooed in her ear.

When I first met Violet in the lab, I whispered in her ear, 'I promise I'll get you out.' But her transition from an experiment to a family pet hasn't been easy.

Violet had never been outside. She never felt grass. She couldn't learn "normal"
house training because she was locked in a cage for too long. So she had to wear
a diaper.

Believe it or not, Violet is one of the lucky ones.

Most government labs, like the USDA and CDC, kill healthy and adoptable puppies,
kittens, and primates and throw them away in garbage bags — like TRASH.
[[link removed]]

Taxpayer, lazy government bureaucrats and white coats
just can’t be bothered to adopt them out. It’s easier to slaughter and
incinerate them.

Pass Violet's Law >>
[[link removed]]

Well, Violet isn't trash. And I feel betrayed by my government. That's why I'm
writing you today.

DEADLINE: follow this link to contact Congress to pass Violet’s Law. Show your support
for this historic legislation that changes everything!

"Senate Bill Could Save Many Federal Lab Animals' Lives and Give Them a New
Home"

–TIME

That’s what TIME magazine reported, Taxpayer. Here’s what
you need to know:

1. VIOLET’S LAW: requires that government labs try to retire survivors like Violet to
sanctuaries or adopt them out to loving homes — for the first time in
American history!

2. GAME-CHANGER: if we pass it, Violet's Law saves countless kittens, puppies, and primate
survivors... across the ENTIRE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT!

3. EXTREMELY URGENT: it's a critical test: the USDA and CDC are watching closely. Congress is
stepping up — but it needs to know you support this!

Taxpayer, these are your kittens. Your puppies. Your
primates. Your taxes paid for them. They belong to you… not government
bureaucrats!

SIGN/SHARE: Violet's Law is the only way to permanently change Uncle Sam’s wasteful
incineration policy. As taxpayers, let’s make the government #GiveThemBack!

Sincerely,

Julie Germany

Board of Directors

White Coat Waste Project

P.S. URGENT: we just got bipartisan members of Congress to reintroduce Violet’s Law! To pass it, a strong showing of taxpayer support is critical today.
[[link removed]] Taxpayer, they’ve suffered for so long. But we can fix
this now! Violet’s Law allows all government lab survivors a second chance to
finally walk on the grass and feel sunshine on their backs.

Contact Congress in the next 24 hours if you’re with us.

– Thanks, Julie.
