John, this past weekend we witnessed a watershed moment in the way the American people view our banking institutions. Today could have turned out very differently than it did if it weren't for the help of the Biden administration. 

A quick recap: Silicon Valley Bank has gone under and their executives, as President Biden put it, "were fired." The stockholders of Silicon Valley lost their money - and while capitalism can backfire on those who hold a lot of the wealth, lower and middle-class Americans bare the majority of the consequences. California regulators intervened, shutting the bank down and placing it in receivership under the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, which typically means liquidating bank assets to pay back depositors and creditors. This process could take months, and in the meantime, innocent everyday Americans would have felt the brunt of the consequences through no fault of their own.  Janet Yellen, the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, and President Biden made it a priority that the depositors of the bank would be made whole and would not have to wait. 

To contrast, we know that Trump would have used this as an opportunity to showboat and make the public panic for his benefit. We as Democrats are focused on the American people and their livelihoods. We at No Dem Left Behind started receiving emails from our vendors/partners that their billing and companies are in danger of interruption.  

This would have devastated all of us, created a market collapse, and more. But, this is the exact reason 81 million Americans trusted President Biden.
Had the Federal Government not acted the way it did, there is a very good chance we could be looking at a run on regional banks all across the country today. Chase and Goldman Sachs would have benefited and everybody else would have suffered. Leadership at a time of turmoil, economic or otherwise, is when our leaders are tested and it is in their leadership that we trust. This is why we elected President Biden and why we need to make sure he is re-elected.
