FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: March 13, 2023
"It is crucial that New Yorkers continue to have confidence in the stability of our banks and financial markets. To that end, today we convened a bipartisan meeting of New York's Congressional delegation to discuss our ongoing efforts to protect the finances of New Yorkers in light of the ongoing situation at Signature Bank.
State and federal leaders have been working hand-in-hand to stabilize financial institutions and give depositors the confidence to know their funds will be available whenever they need. We are grateful to the FDIC and the Biden Administration for acting expeditiously to protect the billions of deposits made by small and medium-sized businesses.
New Yorkers should continue to bank with confidence. We will monitor this evolving situation closely, and will continue acting as necessary to protect the finances of all New Yorkers."
