Tacoma to Puyallup Regional Trail Call for Artists
Deadline: March 15, 2023
Budget: The total art design budget for each location is as follows: Surprise Lake Tributary Site: $20,000 for design; Wapato Creek Site: $38,000 for design; Puyallup Recreation Center: $38,000 for design. In addition to the art design budget listed above, up to $4,000 is allocated towards reimbursable expenses related to travel at the current WSDOT approved reimbursable rates utilizing the Office of Financial Management Per Diem Rate tables.
Eligibility: Artists or artist teams that include a member indigenous to the Pacific Northwest Coast, Coast Salish and specifically Puyallup Tribe of Indians, or have experience working with these Tribes, are strongly encouraged to apply.
All artists or members of an artist team must be 18 years of age or older and are eligible to work in the United States for the length of the project development and installation. The artist may work remotely but shall be prepared to travel to the project site and to attend key presentations in-person as needed to support the design as specifically outlined below. Costs for travel and other direct expenses associated with the design work shall be part of the overall artist budget and accounted for separate from the artist design budget for the project.
Artists are strongly encouraged to have prior experience with public art design and installations and must have experience with tribal collaboration as part of their practice. WSDOT retains the right to use documentation produced in relation to this project, including original artwork, for use in promotional materials for non-commercial and educational purposes only. WSDOT will notify the artist and arrange alternate agreement and permission should the work be used for commercial purposes. Proposed contract language is included in Appendix B. Any clarifications or exclusions to the contract language included in Appendix B shall be clearly indicated as part of your submission materials.

Call to Artists: Shoreline Art Cottage Residency

Eligibility: Open to emerging as well as established artists working in a wide variety of media. Must be 18 years of age and able to complete a W-9 form for payment. Artists must be residents of the state of Washington and reside in King, Pierce, or Snohomish County during the time of the Art Cottage Residency. (There are no overnight accommodations.) Artists of color, immigrants, and artists from diverse communities and backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Budget: Each artist selected (2) will receive $10,000 USD inclusive of all residency time, costs, project, presentation, documentation of the work, and applicable taxes
Eligibility: This call is open to digital artists living in King, Snohomish, Pierce, or Kitsap counties and are able to travel to Seattle for the residency requirement of this project. This opportunity is for individual artists. Artist teams and students under the age of 18 are ineligible to apply.
