You got the industry’s attention in a big way!

Group of brown hens pecking in the dirt

Hi there,

Thanks to advocates like you, our 2023 Eggsposé has been making waves at the highest levels of the food industry. Over the past weeks, you and I showed major corporations we cannot be ignored.

Changemakers let companies know we’re showing up—and will continue to show up—for countless hens who deserve better.

  • This community of advocates sent a powerful message—or rather, 170,864 powerful messages!and they worked.
  • 11 companies—including restaurants, foodservice providers, large-scale bakeries like Otis Spunkmeyer, and hospitality giants like Hyatt—publicly shared progress toward freeing hens from cruel cages for good.
  • Some companies that remained radio silent even took down their contact forms—just to try to stave off the onslaught of calls and emails from advocates demanding progress.

That’s a sure sign of momentum. And we’re just getting started.

To be honest, I’d hoped more companies would’ve responded with greater accountability. I’d hoped more companies would’ve responded at all.

There’s still a long list of companies that are not publicly reporting their progress toward freeing hens from brutal battery cages, which means there’s only one thing to do…

Keep the pressure on until they follow through. 💥

count me in

We never know exactly how close we are to the tipping point that’ll lead to breakthrough changes—and that’s why every message counts. It’s also why we won’t give up.

We’re playing the long game.

We’re not backing down.

In fact, it’s time to go big.

We’re going after animal cruelty in every corner of the country—from the southwest to the northeast and everywhere in between. From huge chains to regional brands, we’ll spark critical change by building pressure—and momentum—within entire sectors of the US food industry.

Why? Because it works.

Just look at what happened with HelloFresh and Blue Apron. Or CVS, Walgreens, and Rite Aid. Or Sodexo, Compass, and other top food service providers. As we worked together to build that critical momentum, these animal welfare hold-outs toppled like dominoes—one after the next.

In the days ahead, we’ll share actions that target three of these massive sectors: bakeries, restaurants, and grocery stores.

These sectors represent day-to-day activities many of us share—like trips to the supermarket, celebrations with friends and family, or nights out at a favorite restaurant.

The companies we’re targeting tout themselves as wholesome brands you can trust. But here’s the real truth: millions of animals are suffering because of them. And a bakery treat, a grocery run, or a date night shouldn’t cost countless hens a lifetime of agony.

Your dedication has fostered change at the most critical junctures. When our campaigns needed swift action in order to succeed, you helped tip the scales. Will you pledge to take action with us as we take on entire sectors of our broken food system—together?

i’m on board

I know we can make 2023 our most impactful year yet!
