Team,

There are plenty of things we need more of, but here's one thing we don't: More oil drilling in the Arctic.

Despite the clear threats to wildlife and our environment, the Trump administration is moving forward with its Big Oil-backed plan to expand oil and gas leasing in our nation's largest tract of public land.

Washington Post: Trump administration opens huge reserve in Alaska to drilling

All these environmental rollbacks out of Washington seem endless, but we can't allow this onslaught to become the new normal. Attacks like this impact all of us -- including here at home in California, where we're leading the fight to protect our environment while the White House retreats. That's why this week, Xavier condemned this attempted land grab by leading a coalition of Attorneys General in formal opposition.

In addition to the health and wildlife impacts, this attempt to open up Alaska's largest reserve to oil and gas drilling could increase greenhouse gas emissions on the reserve by up to 75 percent.

We know this can't stand. Team, join Xavier in opposing this plan by signing your name now:

Big Oil should not be allowed to ravage and destroy our public lands to earn a quick buck. Add your name now»

While the administration fails to protect our public lands, we're standing up for future generations.
