Every day, I’m reminded of the fact that I stand on the shoulders of those before me. I am the daughter of a newspaperman and a teacher and the granddaughter of an iron ore miner who saved his money in a coffee can in the basement to send my dad to college. No one expected me to run for elected office -- and not many people expected me to win either.
But thanks to supporters like you, our grassroots movement beat the odds, and I became the first woman elected to the U.S. Senate from Minnesota. That’s the American dream in action.
Every day since then I’ve been fighting for progress. And I want you to know:
I will never stop fighting to build a nation that works for working families.
