Governor's Legislative Policy Priorities See Big Wins for Wyoming

Governor Mark Gordon signed multiple pieces of priority legislation at the end of the 2023 Legislative Session. Fulfilling priorities outlined in his budget message and State of the State Speeches, the Governor signed bills expanding the Property Tax Refund Program;?extending medical assistance to low-income mothers and children; establishing the 988 suicide hotline; and strengthening Wyoming?s outdoor recreation economy. He also signed?a supplemental budget that places more than $1 billion in savings,?allowing the state to keep taxes low and generate higher investment returns that will benefit future generations.?






Governor signs priority legislation extending medical assistance to low-income mothers and children

Among the successes of the legislative session was the passage of House Bill 4, described by the Governor as?a ?signature piece of pro-life legislation.? The bill extends postpartum Medicaid coverage from 90 days to 12 months and is expected to help between 1,000 and 2,000 low-income Wyoming mothers.
