Thank you for being part of the Reimagined Energy for our Communities, U.S. (REFOCUS) Campaign. Our movement is growing, and we’re asking you to build power in numbers and take action with us in solidarity with Puerto Rico. We have an opportunity to make a people-powered energy system come true, but it requires us to work in solidarity.

In response to the failure of the centralized energy model during and following the 2017 Hurricane Maria climate disaster, Puerto Rican organizations and activists are calling for a transformation of their energy system. They know that:

• Energy is abundant: when it’s not controlled by a centralized, colonial energy model that leaves power in the hands of a few, the power rests in the hands of the people for a reimagined energy future.

• Greedy politicians and corporate lobbyists from LUMA Energy are direct blocks to energy democracy

• When we come together, we’re powerful–they’re calling on us to show up!

Stand in solidarity with people power on the archipelago by signing up for the Quick Solidarity Response Program.

Together with activists on-the-ground, we’re organizing for a more democratic and transparent energy system in Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico is currently governed by the US Congress. Our voice matters.
