Friend, in times of crisis, we count on you to help power UNICEF’s response. One month ago, when catastrophic earthquakes devastated Turkey and Syria, people like you and our entire community met the moment with a critical response for children.
As soon as it was possible, UNICEF jumped into action to distribute essential supplies, rush medical care, provide emergency relief and create safe spaces for children. Now, more than 30 days later, teams continue to work around the clock to reach children.
Children have seen their whole world crumble before their eyes — but UNICEF knows exactly how to help restore their childhoods and protect their futures. Thanks to you, teams are in place to provide children with psychosocial support, help them return to learning and provide some stability amid the chaos, especially for the more than 850,000 children who have been displaced.

UNICEF’s response is still critically needed as hundreds of thousands of children and families remain in desperate conditions. In Turkey alone, over 1.9 million people are now living in temporary shelters with limited access to essential services. And in Syria, even before the earthquakes, nearly 3 million were internally displaced and humanitarian needs among children were higher than they have ever been.
That’s why UNICEF isn’t slowing down when it comes to extending relief efforts to reach every child impacted by this crisis. If you’re able to give, your support will help as UNICEF strives to deliver immediate assistance to invest in the futures of more than 4 million children across Turkey and Syria. Make a gift to help UNICEF reach children with care today.
We’ll continue to keep you informed on the situation and share more ways to help children in emergency situations like this in the future.
Thank you for being there for children,
Shannon Coffey
