Team,
Too many communities around our country have been torn apart by relentless gun violence. And Congress, in what has become a sad pattern of dysfunction, has failed to adequately respond. The best way to honor the lives we’ve lost to gun violence is with action. We need to pass comprehensive gun violence solutions, and I’m ready to get it done.
During the State of the Union, President Biden called for an assault weapons ban. I know this is a crucial step in addressing the gun violence epidemic in our nation. That’s why my Senate colleagues and I introduced legislation – The Assault Weapons Ban of 2023 – that would ban the sale, transfer, manufacture, and import of military-style assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.
I refuse to accept deadly mass shootings as the new normal. It’s past time to demand that Congress take action and pass The Assault Weapons Ban of 2023 .
Add your name to join me in calling on Congress to pass our assault weapons ban and take a critical step forward in our fight to make our communities safer.

Last year, we passed a historic gun reform bill – the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act . It was an excellent start to tackling the gun violence epidemic, and one that proved that progress is possible, but it’s not the end of the road. We need to keep passing more legislation to address this crisis, and frankly, that means an assault weapons ban.
Gun violence is the leading cause of death for American kids. Not illness, not car accidents – guns. Our children and our communities deserve to be safe from gun violence, and Congress must step up to get these guns off our streets.
Sign on now to tell Congress to pass The Assault Weapons Ban of 2023 .
