Contrary to popular belief, the fight over redistricting is far from over – in fact, up to 19 districts could shift by the next election. Since the Cook Political Report is calling the race for House control a toss-up, it’s no exaggeration to say that fair maps could be a deciding factor between Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Speaker Hakeem Jeffries.

In the coming months, we fully expect MAGA Republicans to use every anti-democratic tactic they can think of – from gerrymandering and voter suppression – to tip the scales in their favor. But remember what Attorney General Eric Holder has said, “Wherever Democrats can fairly compete, they can win.”
