Fellow Conservative,
I wrote to you recently about Georgia’s record year for international trade. Our economy is red hot and roaring ahead, built upon the everyday efforts of hardworking Georgians and our commitment to a business-friendly, pro-growth agenda at the State Capitol.
The good news just keeps on coming...
Even with challenging headwinds last year, our Georgia ports had an all-time record year – reporting a 5 percent increase in containers handled over 2021.

We’re seeing the free market in action, Fellow Conservative. It has been reported that cargo is moving away from the West Coast due to high costs, overregulation, and labor issues.
California’s loss is our gain... we look forward to seeing that cargo!
The Georgia Port Authority is moving ahead swiftly on major infrastructure projects that will drastically increase our overall capacity for 2023 and the years ahead. The Port of Savannah already takes care of the most refrigerated containers in the region, and we’ll be increasing cold storage capacity by 11 percent this year alone.
The Peach State is OPEN FOR BUSINESS, and we’re letting the nation and world know.
We can't let up in our fight for jobs, opportunity, and a strong and secure future for hardworking Georgians!
Thank you, as always, for your involvement and support.
Brian Kemp Governor of Georgia
