We still have work to do.

Roy Cooper for North Carolina

John —

Climate change is an imminent, existential threat to our planet. Yet too many far-right legislators in Raleigh and Washington, D.C. are still ignoring it — or even playing it off as a hoax. Meanwhile, my administration is doing the work to invest in our environment and our future.

One of my key priorities as governor has always been to set North Carolina on a path to a clean energy economy. We know that this is good for our planet and our economy.

John, I’m committed to our ongoing work to secure our clean energy future, and I need to know you’re with me. Can you sign on to show your support for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and expanding clean energy opportunities?

The facts are clear: Greenhouse gas emissions are endangering our planet’s future, and we have to transition away from fossil fuels. That’s why I signed into law the first-ever carbon reduction goals for our state and made a commitment to carbon neutrality by 2050.

Renewable energy is also key to ensuring that our electric grid is resilient and reliable.

My administration recently published a report outlining our progress toward our climate goals, but there’s still work to do. Expanding affordable, reliable clean energy options is key.
