John -

Bitter polarization is a major obstacle in today's political
environment. The perceptions we hold of our political parties often seem
to be derived from the personalities on cable news.

But there is a way we can defeat the negative banter of Fox News, OAN
and the like: recognizing that organizers can and do win elections.

The best counter to a baseless, ad hominem attack, is to calmly prove
one's claims through our actions. And organizers are all about action.

We need to empower genuine local leaders to effectively lead on the
issues themselves. Because the fact is, our issues hold majority support
all over America - even in the "reddest" districts.

The only way to change a community's heart and mind is through the
example of enacting positive change on every level of government. Change
that can be not just heard, but felt at the granular level.

ROCC is all about identifying, teaching, adapting, and implementing the
craft of the best rural organizers across the country to improve
government from the local school board to the office of the Presidency.
Because the fact is, those connections are much closer and much more
vital than we think.

We'll never beat partisan bias with cable news talking points, but we
can through the actions of genuine local leaders.
