Team,
This week marked ten years since the Citizens United decision opened the floodgates for corporations and special interests to spend billions of dollars to influence our elections.
It’s pretty simple: we’ve got to get big money out of politics. That’s why I’m supporting a constitutional amendment that would overturn Citizens United once and for all.
Our elections should be decided by the voters -- but because of Citizens United, billionaires and corporate interests can spend as much money as they want to elect politicians to do their bidding. That is not how our democracy is supposed to work, and we must do better.
With so much on the line, I have made this fight one of my top priorities in the Senate. That’s why I just received an “A” rating from End Citizens United Action Fund for my work defending our democracy. And I’ll keep doing everything I can to get dark money out of our politics.
Sign on now if you’re with me in the fight to reverse the Citizens United decision.
Thank you,
Jacky
