‌ ‌ WEEKLY UPDATE March 12th, 2023 Dear Kansas friends, Thank you for your interest in receiving my newsletter. Please feel free to share this with your friends and family. Highlighting the Fentanyl Epidemic Facing Kansas Record amounts of fentanyl is being smuggled across our wide-open southern border and into our communities. Our federal government is failing at a core constitutional duty: enforcing commonplace border security and safeguarding our citizens. We can and must do better. Watch HERE Congratulating America's Future Military Leaders It's such an honor to have the opportunity to nominate Kansans to our nation's military academies. This week I had the chance to call two Kansas high school seniors and tell them that they have been accepted to the United States Air Force Academy. Click HERE to watch the video. Working to Get America Back on Track The federal government has no business telling social media companies who they should and shouldn't censor on their platforms. Last night I voted in favor of legislation to end this abuse of power, push back on Big Tech censorship, and protect Americans' right to free speech. The last thing Kansas farmers need is more costly and burdensome regulations from Washington bureaucrats. I just voted to BLOCK the Biden administration's unclear WOTUS rules. Kansans deserve to manage their own land without the federal government breathing down their necks. Read more HERE 173 House Democrats supported reducing penalties for violent carjackings and robberies. Democrats continue to push their soft-on-crime agenda that has made our cities and communities less safe. I will always support our law enforcement and work to secure our streets. Read More HERE House Aerospace Caucus I am so proud to represent part of Kansas's growing aviation, defense, and space industries in Congress. I look forward to working with my colleagues on the House Aerospace Caucus, led by Rep. Ron Estes, to put forward legislative solutions that promote American aerospace excellence, strengthen our economy, help our workforce thrive, and bolster America's national security. I am Proud to Support the Parents Bill of Rights During the pandemic, we saw concerned parents in school districts across the country being kicked out of school board meetings and even labeled as domestic terrorists by the federal government. This is unacceptable and un-American. I am proud to support the Parents Bill of Rights that guarantees parents will always have a seat at the table. Read more HERE Reckless Spending has Fueled Record Inflation The budget President Biden released today is nothing more than a roadmap to more inflation, crippling tax hikes, and bloated bureaucracy. Americans demand fiscal responsibility in Washington, and I will continue fighting to end Democrats' reckless federal spending. Read more HERE President Biden has spent more money in his first 2 years than any other president in American history. This is putting America on a dangerous trajectory. Families across Kansas have to make hard decisions every day and live within their means — Washington should have to do the same. Meeting with Wounded Warriors Project Great meeting with Kansas veterans from the Wounded Warriors Project today! This week, the House passed the Wounded Warrior Access Act—a bipartisan bill to help streamline the process for veterans to submit a claim to the VA. If you and your family are planning a trip to Washington, please let us know! We would love to show you around our office and give you a tour of the United States Capitol.
