Democrats just picked a huge fight with billionaires and price-gouging
corporations.

The budget unveiled by the White House this week proposes taxing the ultra
wealthy in order to fund health care, child care, housing, and college
affordability. And it cuts the deficit.

Predictably, Kevin McCarthy and extreme Republicans would rather
manufacture a debt ceiling crisis to force painful cuts to programs like
Medicaid, Head Start, school lunches, and potentially Social Security and
Medicare.

Now is the time to raise the pressure on McCarthy. That's why leaders of
the Progressive Caucus, the business-friendly New Dems, and the top
Democrat on the Budget Committee are joining forces -- asking EVERY House
Democrat to sign their joint letter in support of a clean debt ceiling
bill.

vital programs -- by urging ALL Dems to join this Democratic unity letter
in support of a clean debt-ceiling increase with no cuts? Click here.

P Street, the PCCC's government affairs arm, will keep Democratic leaders
informed as citizen support for the unity letter grows.

Raising the debt ceiling means allocating enough money to pay bills that
have already been accumulated.

The New York Times reported this week that even a short debt default would
create an immediate recession and cost over a million jobs, a long default
would cost over 7 million jobs, and the extreme cuts demanded by Kevin
McCarthy and Republicans would cost 2.6 million jobs -- even if a debt
default is avoided.

All 3 of those outcomes are unacceptable.

Republicans by joining the Democratic unity letter for a clean
debt-ceiling increase with no cuts.

Thanks for being a bold progressive.
