The numbers are clear. Every year, rising premiums and prescription drug prices eat up more and more of rural family budgets already strained by low wages, the high cost of living, and inflation.

You know why? I'll give you a hint: it's not because people are getting sicker.

Costs are skyrocketing for two simple reasons:

1. Pharmaceutical corporations are gouging the American public, and
2. Members of Congress are letting them.

Rural families deserve quality health care at a fair price. One Country Project is identifying the next generation of rural champions who will rein in out-of-control corporate greed and deliver lower costs. With so much on the line, we need to make sure we reach every corner of this country. Can you chip in $5 to get our message out early? [[link removed]]

We've already seen the administration make some truly great strides over the last two years: Congress capped drug costs to $2,000 per year and capped insulin to $35 a month for seniors on Medicare.

We're moving full steam ahead to build on these wins, but Big Pharma is already recruiting candidates to roll them back.

Next we must lower drug prices for everyone , so working families don't have to choose between refilling a prescription and putting food on the table. With strong advocates in office, we'll have greater oversight of pharmaceutical companies and will avoid the devastation of an opioid crisis.

Drug prices and health care costs will be one of the biggest issues in next year's elections, and Big Pharma will be spending big to spread half-truths and elect their hand-picked candidates. We're counting on grassroots supporters like you to make sure we have the resources to get the truth out and elect steadfast fighters for rural families, [[link removed]]
