Dear John,
Gary Lineker is right. The Government’s so-called ‘Illegal
Migration Bill’ is “immeasurably cruel”.
So today, we showed the Prime Minister Rishi Sunak the red
card. Our digital advertising van went to Parliament, to the Home
Office and to a football match, to show our solidarity with asylum
seekers and that we, like Gary Lineker, are against Sunak’s immoral,
unworkable Bill.
Almost 10,000 people have already signed the petition
today calling on the Government to live up to their
obligations under international law, to reestablish safe routes for
refugees and asylum seekers, and to treat people fleeing war, famine
and persecution with dignity and compassion.
Basically, to give the 'Illegal Migration Bill' the boot.
Will you add your
name John?
Our message got noticed and pressure is building on Sunak's
government to change direction. Fans from opposing teams this weekend
united in their support for our message (commiserations go to
Fulham).
If you do one thing today, show that you support Gary Lineker’s
stance, and that you too stand with asylum seekers. Show that
you don’t agree with the Prime Minister’s anti-asylum
Bill.
The Government should be focusing on restoring safe routes for
those fleeing war, famine and persecution. Not pandering to nativist
xenophobia.
Show them you reject their cruel agenda, and sign the
petition today.
In solidarity for refugees, asylum seekers
and all people in crisis, and in support of those like Gary Linekar
who speak up on their behalf, I am asking you to sign the petition
calling on the government to give this Bill the boot.
And I ask you to share the petition to make sure our combined
voices grow to a deafening roar.
Best wishes,
Naomi Smith
