1. Outlined Priorities in my “State of the District” Speech.
  • In Hackensack, I discussed the ways I’m working to make life more affordable for NJ families and small businesses, while standing up for our shared Jersey Values (from choice to clean water to affordable child care).
2. Opened New Offices in Englewood, Fair Lawn, and Fort Lee — as part of my new District.
3. Re-elected Co-Chair of the Bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus.
  • The group expanded to 66 Members for this Congress, half Democrat, half Republican. Read Punchbowl News.
  • Worked for Commonsense, Bipartisan Solutions to Get Things Done.
  • I’m focused on commonsense policies over extremism. Read a profile at Politico.

4. Preventing Debt Ceiling Default.
  • I’m working with a bipartisan group in the Problem Solvers Caucus to prevent a default, and address our long-term fiscal issues. We can't put the full faith and credit of the United States at risk Watch at MSNBC and CNN. Read at Reuters.

5. Re-Launched the Bipartisan SALT Caucus.
  • My colleagues and I are fighting to restore the State and Local Tax Deduction (SALT) and deliver much-need tax relief to hardworking Jersey families. Read at WRNJ. Watch at CNBC.

6. Named to House Intelligence Committee.
  • I was honored to be named by Leader Hakeem Jeffries to the prestigious House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Appointed Ranking Member of NSA & Cyber Subcommittee. Read at WRNJ.
7. Joined President Biden at the Gateway Tunnel Official Announcement — Building the Hudson River Train Tunnel.
  • This important federal investment clawed back from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill, I helped shape and pass, is a major part of completing the Gateway Train Tunnel. Read at NJ.com.
8. Rallied for a Woman’s Right to Choose.
  • I joined the “Bigger than Roe” Women’s Rally to support a woman’s right to choose. Read at WRNJ.
9. Fighting Back Against the MTA’s Outrageous Congestion Tax Cash Grab.
  • In Fort Lee, I announced the new bipartisan Anti-Congestion Tax Act to protect Jersey commuters against the MTA’s absurd $23/day tax scheme. Listen at WNYC. Watch at CBS and ABC. Read at NJ.com.
  • I discussed how the MTA’s Congestion Tax could lead to toll increases and have a massive impact on the Port Authority’s capital improvement projects. Watch at News12 and CBS.
10. Celebrated Black History Month and Martin Luther King Day.
  • I had the honor of speaking at Community Baptist Church of Englewood to honor the legacies of Dr. Martin Luther King and civil rights hero Theodora Lacey, a 60-year Teaneck resident. Read at NJ Spotlight.
  • I took part in Bergen County NAACP’s Black History Month Health Fair to show how we can close health disparity gaps with education and prevention. Read at WRNJ.
11. Invested in Clean and Safe Drinking Water.
  • In Fair Lawn, I announced that we clawed back $3.4 million to help keep lead and forever chemicals out of our drinking water. Read at CBS News.
  • In Mahwah, I announced that we clawed back $800,00 to protect the quality of the water our families and children drink. Read at NorthJersey.com.
  • The EPA’s new “Lead Service Line Replacement Accelerators” initiative will help ensure Jersey’s most underserved communities receive the support they need to replace lead pipes and claw back investments from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill that I helped shape and pass. Read at WRNJ.
12. Clawed Back $3.4 million to Expand Sewer System in Vernon.
  • I helped claw back this federal investment to provide sewer access for 500+ homeowners, while improving water quality and attracting job-creating businesses to the area. Read at NJ Herald.
13. Earned A Perfect 100% Score on Environmental Protection from LCV. 
  • I am honored to have earned a perfect 100% score from the League of Conservation Voters on their annual National Environmental Scorecard. Read at InsiderNJ.
14. Invested in Local Police and First Responders.
  • In Newton, I announced that we clawed back $1.3 million to modernize the 9-1-1 dispatch communications systems in four Sussex County towns. Read at WRNJ.
  • In West Milford, we announced $2.9 million in federal investment clawed back for a new comprehensive emergency communications radio system. Read at West Milford Messenger.
  • In Bogota, I launched “Lower Tax Tuesday” and announced that we clawed back $255,000 to provide the town’s Police with a new state-of-the-art communications system. Read at NorthJersey.com.
  • We also clawed back $954,000 for equipment needed by the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office. Read at NorthJersey.com.
15.  Hosted Our First Grant “Claw Back” Summit.
  • I was thrilled to have many community leaders, first responders, and residents join me to learn how to claw more federal investment back to our communities to help our families and help lower local property taxes. Read at North-JerseyNews.com.

16. Stood Up Against Antisemitism.

  • On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, I introduced the bipartisan HEAL Act to examine Holocaust education efforts in our nation. Read at Jewish Insider.
  • I proudly stood with the North Jersey community at the Rally Against Antisemitism to speak out against the rise of hate and antisemitism. Read at TapInto.
  • I met with Rabbi Mac Katz after the terrible molotov cocktail attack on Temple Ner Tamid in Bloomfield. Read at NJ Spotlight.
  • I led a group of 32 Members of Congress to introduce a new House Resolution, HR 92, recognizing Israel as America’s legitimate and democratic ally, and condemning antisemitism. Read at WRNJ.
  • I spoke to students at Torah Academy of Bergen County about my bipartisan work in Congress, combating antisemitism, and the US-Israel partnership. Read at WRNJ.

17. Supported Local Fifth District Small Businesses.

  • For my latest “Josh on the Job,” I learned what it takes to make mouth-watering sushi at Shumi Japanese Cuisine’s new location in LeoniaRead at Englewood News.
  • I was also excited to lend a hand at Bergen County Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore in Westwood. Read at WRNJ.
18. Invested in Lifesaving Research to Fight Cancer and Rare Diseases.
  • I brought my dear friend, Jen Feinberg, who has metastatic breast cancer, as my guest to the State of the Union. I’m inspired by Jen and her work raising funds for lifesaving cancer research. I’ll keep working with both Democrats and Republicans, and the President, to invest in fighting cancer. Read more about Jen’s story here.
  • At Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, I announced my new bill to boost research for development for treating rare diseases. Read at TAPInto.

19. Combatted Financial Scams Targeting Seniors. 

  • At Northwest Bergen County Senior Center in Midland Park, I announced new steps to my “Senior Security Strategy” to help stop financial scams targeting seniors. Read at WRNJ.

20. Fought for Clear and Simple Plane Ticket Pricing. 

  • I launched my “Clear and Simple Airline Transparency Agenda” to prevent airlines from gouging customers with hidden fees and charges when booking flights. Read at NJ101.5.

21. Protected Our Strategic Petroleum Reserve from Foreign Adversaries.

  • The House passed my provisions to prohibit the sale of our strategic oil reserves to foreign adversaries, terrorists, and other bad actors. Read at WRNJ.

22. Honored Iranian Protesters Fighting for Freedom and Human Rights. 

  • The House overwhelmingly passed the bipartisan resolution I co-led to applaud the courageous men and women standing up to the oppressive human rights abuses of the Iranian regime. Read at The Hill.

23. Delivered Valentines for Veterans.

  • I joined students at Martha B Day School in Bloomingdale to make Valentine’s Day cards. I’m thrilled that we collected a record-breaking 4,000 valentines to deliver to local veterans! Read at Patch.com.
