What's happening around the state?

➡️ TEAM PAGOP UPDATE ⬇️
Happy Saturday!
Governor Shapiro's first budget address to the legislature did have some
bright spots, and we're hopeful that he will work with Republicans on common
sense solutions that will help all Pennsylvanians like tackling inflation,
making our Commonwealth a safer place, and fixing the education system.
Republicans are willing to work with the Governor to better Pennsylvania, but
we will not cave to radical proposals that will only worsen the problems we are
facing.
While the Governor did propose some ideas that we could work together on, our
House and Senate Republican caucuses will continue to oppose radical leftist
ideology and we will work hard to hold their socialist "solutions" to the
problems our state is facing at bay.

State Republican leaders said Gov. Josh Shapiro’s fiscal year 2023-24 state
budget proposal is a good starting part for upcoming negotiations and there are
points the two sides can agree on, but the cost of the budget is just too steep.
