Serving in the House of Representatives for almost twenty years certainly gives you perspective.

But nothing has impacted the way our government works like the landmark case Citizens United v. FEC and the influx of dark money into our political system.

Instead of advocating and fighting for constituents, many politicians listen to special interests and lobbyists with deep pockets who will fund their campaigns. And sadly, money is how you win an election.

I won't play that game because my constituents deserve better. But that means I need everyone who can to step up and help reach my end-of-month fundraising goal.
