I’m asking you to make a split donation between the Montana Democratic Party and the Montana Democratic Legislative Committee. But first let me tell you a bit about why this year is so critical to our success.

For years, Republicans have touted a trickle-down economic policy that essentially relies on the ultra-rich receiving tax breaks that they will then redistribute down the line to their workers.

Well, Republicans have tried that approach for thirty years and the only thing we’ve learned is that if you give the ultra-rich a tax break, they’re going to keep that money for themselves. But I’m writing to you today to tell you about a type of trickle-down effect that is very real, not a bunch of voodoo nonsense.

That’s the trickle-down of electoral energy from the top of the ticket that helps folks all the way down the ballot perform better than they otherwise might have. As the head of the Montana Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee, it’s my job to make sure this trickle down reaches our state legislative candidates.

And we’ve got an incredible opportunity this year with a presidential election and such a strong Senate candidate on the ballot in Sen. Jon Tester.

We will re-elect Jon Tester and we will break the GOP supermajority in the state house. But that’s not going to happen magically – remember, we don’t believe in voodoo magic like the GOP – it’s only going to happen if we dedicate ourselves and do the necessary work over the next year and a half to WIN.
