Folks,
Republicans spend a lot of time professing to be the party of law and order – railing against peaceful protest, lying about crime rates, and demanding the arrest of political opponents.
But when it really comes down to it, they’ll throw their law-and-order shtick out the window whenever it suits them.
There’s no better example than the right-wing gathering in Springfield earlier this month, where a member of the extremist Oath Keepers trained local sheriffs on how to defy Illinois’ new assault weapons ban.
Folks, not only does this show a disturbing disregard for the law, but for the fundamental rules of democracy. And most of all, it’s a betrayal of the communities these sheriffs are sworn to protect.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: There is no place for extremists in public office. That’s why I’m asking you to pitch in $25 to defeat extremism at every level of government in 2024. Will you join the fight?
