Spring is a wonderful time to visit your favorite parks. Wildflowers are in bloom, wildlife is out and about, and wild adventures await!?

Spring Break is just around the corner, so parks may be filling up fast.?Make reservations [ [link removed] ] now if you haven't already.?

Be sure to check the park status [ [link removed] ]?before you?book a reservation [ [link removed] ]?or leave for the park. Please modify or cancel [ [link removed] ]?your reservation if your plans change, so someone else can enjoy the park!

Wildlife viewing [ [link removed] ] is one of the most enjoyable things to do at state parks. With plenty of wildlife around in the spring, please?keep a respectful distance, and review?these?tips for wildlife watching [ [link removed] ]. *Great Texas Birding Classic
*Register today [ [link removed] ] for the 2023 Birding Classic! This year's tournament runs daily from April 15-May 15. There are categories [ [link removed] ] for all ages and skill levels, including beginners, as well as a category specifically for state parks. The registration [ [link removed] ] deadline is April 1.

Wild History
CCC at Fort Parker State Park [ [link removed] ]

This year we are celebrating 100 years of Texas State Parks [ [link removed] ]!?Many parks were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps [ [link removed] ] (CCC). CCC Company 3807 constructed the dam that formed Fort Parker Lake (pictured) and the buildings and roads in the park.?Today, we manage 29 CCC-built parks. We strive to tell their stories and preserve their historic architecture. The cabins, shelters, trails, bridges and refectories help contribute to these parks' distinctive character.?
