We have exciting news to share. Coach Joe Kennedy has been officially reinstated as a football coach at Bremerton High School!
The Bremerton School District sent us a letter this week confirming he’s once again a member of the coaching staff.
If you’ve closely followed this case, you know it has been a long and arduous legal battle. Coach’s last prayer on the field happened almost eight years ago. He endured years of litigation to restore his religious freedom. Despite numerous setbacks, he won big at the U.S. Supreme Court last June, when the Court upheld his constitutional right to pray and set a landmark precedent stating that government cannot censor private religious expression.
We’re really encouraged by this news. Watch First Liberty attorney Jeremy Dys discuss Coach Joe’s reinstatement:

Both First Liberty and Coach Kennedy are tremendously grateful for your steadfast support. We could not have fought Coach Kennedy’s case and secured a game-changing victory without your help.
Now that his return to the field is within sight, please continue praying for Coach Kennedy.
The chains are moving! We’re looking forward to seeing Coach back on the field this fall coaching and giving thanks to God with a prayer after every game.
