John,

Today is my mom’s birthday. It has now been more than 20 years since I’ve been able to celebrate with her because she was shot and killed answering her front door. So today, I’ll celebrate her life surrounded by loved ones and tomorrow, I’ll keep fighting to stop more families from experiencing the same tragedy.

My mom and me

It was on my mom’s birthday, six years ago, in freezing temperatures and sleet, that I ran 26 miles. I’d been trying to find the best way to honor my mom and running a marathon felt right.

While training, I raised over $30,000 for Brady and it’s what led me to lead the organization with others survivors today. On what would have been my mom’s 70th birthday, I finally realized what I needed to do next — honor my mom’s life by fighting for a future where no one has to miss a birthday.

Brady has given me an opportunity to use my experience as a survivor to work toward ending the gun violence epidemic that took my mom. And today, {FirstName or 'Friend'}}, I’m asking you to join me in celebrating my mom’s birthday by honoring her life. Right now, a number of life-saving bills sit before Congress, including legislation that could have saved my mother’s life. But if we are going to finally pass these bills, I need your help.

Will you donate now and help me celebrate my mom’s birthday by fighting for common-sense solutions to prevent gun violence? [[link removed]]

I miss my mom every day, but I know she’d be proud of how hard I fight to save lives and honor her with action. I hope you’ll join me. [[link removed]]

Brady Launches Campaign Encouraging States to Invest New Funding into Life-Saving Public Awareness Efforts

This week, Brady launched a new campaign [[link removed]] encouraging states to invest newly awarded funding from the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act into gun safety public awareness and education, including efforts to promote safe firearm storage and increase the use of extreme risk protection orders (ERPOs).

In an event that included representatives from the U.S. Department of Justice, the Ad Council, and the Hope and Heal Fund, Brady highlighted the opportunity states have to save lives by tapping into resources like Brady’s nationally recognized End Family Fire program. The new campaign will also mobilize grassroots networks to push states to invest in these life-saving efforts and provide support for implementation.

Disarm Hate: Remember Breonna Taylor & the Atlanta Spa Shootings

[link removed] [[link removed]]

This week marks two years since a gunman shot and killed eight people in Atlanta, GA, including six Asian women. It also marks three years since Breonna Taylor was killed by police in Louisville, KY.

While these two incidents happened a year apart, in different cities, and to different communities, they demonstrate the same deadly link between hate, bias and firearms. We must take action against hate-fueled gun violence, including police violence. These incidents are a result of racism and bias, that if left unaddressed, will put even more lives at risk.
We cannot wait for another preventable tragedy; we must disarm hate. In honor of Breonna and those killed in Atlanta, please, sign your name now to disarm hate.

Have you come across news headlines about incidents of road rage where a driver brandished a gun? It's a distressing thought, but how frequently do these incidents take place and should you be concerned? In this episode, we're joined by Dr. Megan O'Toole, Deputy Director of Research at Everytown, who breaks down the facts. Dr. O'Toole shares her latest research on the growing trend of gun thefts from cars — an escalating pattern that too often fuels gun violence in the US — and what you can do, whether you're a gun owner or not, to
