I am proud to have forced a vote on my Syria War Powers Resolution in the House of Representatives earlier this week! My resolution garnered support from 56 Democrats and 47 Republicans, and although it did not pass, it was necessary to shed light on the United States' continued presence in Syria. It's no accident that many Americans are unaware that our troops are still in Syria. For nearly two decades, the United States has been the top donor to ISIS and other terrorist groups through the careless allocation of funds to conflicts and the indirect supply of weapons to hostile forces. It is imperative that we stop risking American lives in a war-torn country where the alliances shift faster than sand.
The people of our country have a right to speak freely and openly express ideas without having to worry about their own government attempting to censor them. The release of the Twitter files exposed federal officials actively working to suppress the free speech of Americans. That is why this week in Congress, I voted in support of H.R. 140, a bill that would make it illegal for federal employees to take any action to censor lawful speech or coerce a private entity to censor lawful speech.
Open dialogue and free speech are what Democrats fear most. They'd rather cancel anyone who doesn't blindly follow the liberal agenda. I will continue to put America First while battling the woke agenda that tries to suffocate free speech that doesn't fit their narrative.

I kicked off our House Armed Services Committee (HASC) hearing earlier this week by asking if anyone on the witness panel had heard of Rice's Whales. There are only 51 Rice's Whales in the Gulf of Mexico, so it makes sense that Air Force General Glen D. VanHerck appeared to have never heard of them. The newly categorized "endangered species" has now shockingly triggered the halt to all critical live-fire testing in the Gulf Test Range.
I informed General VanHerck that testing is now required to take place over land because of Rice's Whales. Consequently, land-based testing will shutdown highways that Northwest Floridians use daily, and interfere with other military exercises. A serious nation would not impair critical testing of hypersonic components and weapons over a range that had almost $200 million dollars invested into it because of 51 whales.
Making the situation even more outrageous, it turns out that the United States Military isn't allowed to operate in the Gulf of Mexico, but the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is. China was granted permission to purchase a dual-purpose oil rig from Shell Oil in 2016. Although the 96th Test Wing at Eglin Air Force Base rejected the idea of selling the Ram Powell Unit Platform to China, the Obama administration approved it anyway. This gave the CCP the capability to attend and record our live-fire testing sessions like fans at a football game. Our country is trying to accomodate the needs of China and 51 whales instead of our national security.

Young American sons and daughters will continue to die only as long as Congress continues to accept Democratic and Republican warmongers' phony justifications for keeping troops in the Middle East. My resolution, H. Con. Res. 21, pushed back against those who still rely on a 22-year old AUMF intended to target those responsible for 9/11 to risk American lives for their neocon fantasies. Only 56 Democrats and 47 Republicans dared to stand up for our service members and refuse to shake hands with the D.C. War Machine.
It is clear that the United States is a Pacific power and an Atlantic power, but not a Middle Eastern power. Our attempt to turn Syria into a Jeffersonian Democracy did not only lead to American deaths but also the funding of terrorist groups like ISIS. The First Congressional District of Florida has one of the highest concentrations of active-duty military personnel in the nation, so it is my responsibility to represent all Northwest Floridians appropriately and keep pushing for votes in Congress to bring our troops home.

Debate is essential to resolving our country's issues, and without the ability to have an open discussion, Americans are powerless. The woke mob endlessly works to silence critics through cancel culture.
It is encouraging to see public figures like Chris Rock challenge the status quo and promote open dialogue. He is right that cancel culture is dangerous and creates boring dialogue. Groups that engage in canceling others are indeed united by hypocrisy. I couldn't agree more with his assessment. While modern liberals make literal and figurative attempts to muzzle the voices that don't support their agenda, I refuse to be silenced, and I will keep putting America First!

It is disappointing to see the FBI, which was once thought of as the world's preeminent law enforcement entity, become the law enforcement wing of the Democratic party. While any evidence presented against the Biden administration is dismissed as Russian propaganda, anyone who stands in the way of the weaponized FBI is at risk of being targeted.
The new ATF pistol-brace rule is also a prime example of how government organizations operating under the Biden administration issue edicts solely for political show and not to benefit the American people. The Deep State opposes Americans exercising their Second Amendment rights and detests the American people holding government officials accountable.
